Sharing God’s Love
with Syria’s Forgotten

THE FORGOTTEN

Abandoned. Ignored by their government. Left to perish.

Imagine a life filled with bomb blasts, violence, chaos and fear. At a moment’s notice you might have to run for your life, with nothing but the clothes on your back — or die. Now imagine having to decide whether to move your elderly parents amidst this chaos and despair. Or having to choose between taking them ... or your children. This was the reality for thousands of persecuted Syrians. And now, across the war-torn country, in empty, broken-down towns, a remnant remains. The elderly. The widowed. Even some children ... left behind.

sevan's Story

Sevan lost her husband suddenly and violently in a mortar fire attack in their hometown of Aleppo. Heartbroken, she reached out to the local Christian church and found Help The Persecuted. She received comfort, help, and hope ... and eventually came to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Continued persecution by her own family cannot deter Sevan from her newfound faith. She feels safe and loved for the first time since her husband’s untimely death. Sevan is not forgotten.

FORGOTTEN

your vital ministry to the forgotten

God’s heart is for the widow and orphan, the fatherless, the forgotten ... and He’s called us to love them, too! We can’t turn a blind eye to their needs — we won’t. And you are helping us make a difference ... After our team member, Kareem, visited a small village near Aleppo, he reported:

“I thought what I saw during the war in Aleppo was the worst I’d ever see. Until I visited this village. I saw children starving ... many had been left behind by their own families and were searching for food in the trees.”
With the help of our partners, Kareem and our local team began ministering. They provided food and funded the construction of a soccer field for the children. Many of these orphaned children are Muslims and are open to the Gospel. Now they can safely gather, play, and be discipled —a sports field with an eternal impact!

psalm 82:3

deuteronomy 10:18

"The LORD executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing."

Zechariah 7:10
